EGLL - Heathrow Airport - London, United Kingdom. Had a longish flight in the Microlight from Gloucester airport, over Hereford where I live, followed the road to Abergavenny, then up over the mountains to Hay on Wye, then back to Hereford, then bed, as it was midnight! FSX is now well worth using, at last. One problem I did notice was motorways when they pass under bridges do have a bump, so the traffic disappears then comes back the other side, but I can live with that. Now even at at 500 feet above the ground it is great. I used the FSX Microlight as you can get good views of the ground, and previously I had to fly at over 3000 feet to even get the scenery to be reasonably acceptable. I have now installed all four areas of the VFR Real Scenery (I mistakenly called it the VFR Photographic Scenery in my last reply of course that was for my old version of Flight Simulator) Fantastic ! I did have the Autogen turned on quite high so that Heathrow does look better than just a flat piece of land, and the frame rate, which I had set to 21FPS hardly varied while taxiing and taking off. If anyone posts a reply after the 17th of February, I will be away from my computer until the 21st of March, on holiday, so please don't think I am ignoring your replies. Or does anyone know of a "quicker" download site than Microsoft. So a few questions if anyone can help please.ġ) Do I need to install both SP1 & SP2, or does SP2 also include the SP1 updates ?Ģ) Does anyone know if you can get these updates on a cd, as when I tried to download SP1 the other evening, but it was so slow that it would take over 5 hours even on my broadband connection. I intend to remove FSX from the other computer, and install it on the new "faster" computer. To jump ahead a bit, I have recently bought another computer, so my wife could use the other one, and I could use the new one, a Zoostorm Core 2 Quad Q6600 Advanced Premium PC, 750GB HDD, 4GB Ram, DVDRW, nVidia 9800GT Graphics, Vista Home Premium, in another room. I bought a new computer, which made quite a difference, and obviously installed SP1 & SP2, and all four VFR Photographic scenery. I have had FSX Deluxe Edition since it first came out, but was very disappointed by it's performance on my computer, which was quite old. ![]()
